School hold Grease themed funder and lightening funfair
By Aimee Walsh
A LOCAL school celebrated the beginning of the summer holidays with a Grease themed vintage funfair.
Students, staff and parents enjoyed a day out at the ‘funder and lightening’ funfair on Friday, June 18, which was organised by Divine Mercy National School in Balgaddy, Lucan.

The funfair marked the end of the school year and the beginning of the summer holidays for the students, after a difficult year due to school closures and Covid-19 restrictions.
There were smiles all around as those in attendance enjoyed rides such as a carousel, a ‘chair-o-planes’ ride as well as an ice cream van and a DJ, with many donning ‘Grease’ outfits as part of the theme.
Reminiscing on the day, the school said that it was “one for the history books” and was well deserved by the children of the school.
