Scoil Mhuire girls land their first football title
THERE was delight for Scoil Mhuire after they captured the Corn Tadgh Ó Cionn in their first ever Cumann na mBunscoill final as they trounced Glasnevin ET 7-7 to 1-2.
Some 59 years after the establishment of Scoil Mhuire in Clondalkin they set up their first Gaelic football team, and have now won their first ever title in style after a 13-game winning streak.

They where hot out of the traps and were fired in front when midfielder Aoife Roberts scored a goal from a ‘45’.
Captain Aoife McCabe along with Emily Norman formed a wall in defence for the Clondalkin side with Alana McCabe and Rebecca Nolan running rampant down the other end of the field.
By the half-time whistle, Scoil Mhuire had built up a convincing 3-2 to 0-1 lead but the game was far from over as they would go on to score another 4-5 in the second-half.
Emma Fogarty, who plays her club football with Round Tower, was fearless in front of goal and slotted over a number of low percentage points.
Lucy Walker turned in an almost flawless display in goal but Glasnevin did sneak a goal past her deep into the second-half.
Yet, that mattered little as Roberts, McCabe and Nolan had already done enough damage down the other end to help seize the Corn Tadgh Ó Cionn for the first time in the school’s history.
