Sean secures All-Ireland Schools Championships

TALLAGHT athletic club athlete Sean Aigboboh won the Senior 100m title at the All-Ireland Schools Championships in Tullamore on Saturday last when representing High School, Rathgar.

The emerging young sprinter has gradually reduced his times for the distance in the past few months and set a new personal best time of 10.67 when taking the title.

Marcus Mitchel just missed out on the podium by only 0.03m when finishing 4th in the long jump with a new personal best of 5.89 metres.

Elsewhere, at the Dublin grade meet series in UCD on Saturday, Christopher Thoms recorded a time of 12.19 when finishing 5th in the grade B 100m, while Uche Disu recorded a time of 13.37 in her grade B 100m, and Anita Carruth recorded a time of 1:10.88 in the grade D 400m.

Tallaght juvenile athletes will be seeking their place on the podium and secure National qualification, when they contest the Day 2/4/4 of the Dublin Championships this coming weekend at the DSD Sports Campus and on Day 5 in Tallaght on the 17th of June.
