Second arrest made in relation to death of Vincent Parsons

GARDAI have today arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with the death of Vincent Parsons, the second arrest made in relation to the investigation.

A father-of-two, Vincent Parsons (34), was discovered with head injuries by passers-by in Killinarden Estate on Saturday night, August 24.

From Clondalkin, Mr Parsons passed away two days later on Monday, August 26. 

In a statement released today (Sunday, September 8), gardai said that a second arrest in relation to the fatal assault has been made. 

According to a Garda spokesperson: “A 26-year-old male has been arrested today, Sunday 8 September 2019, on suspicion of murder in relation to the fatal assault of a man in Killinarden, Tallaght, on 24 August 2019.

“He is currently being detained at Tallaght Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

“This is the second person arrested in relation to the murder.

“Investigations are continuing.”

Last month, gardai arrested another man (24) in connection with the investigation.

This man was released without charge on August 29. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
