Second person (woman) arrested over fatal Tallaght assault

Gardai confirmed that the woman (30s) arrested in connection with this investigation on Saturday, July 27, has been released without charge.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

GARDAI in Tallaght investigating the fatal assault of a man (20s) in the Drumcairn Estate in Tallaght on Friday, July 26, have arrested a second person.

According to a Garda statement issued, a female (30s) was arrested for alleged offences in connection with this investigation and is currently detained pursuant to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, at a Dublin Garda Station.

The male (30s) arrested yesterday has since been charged.

A post-mortem examination of the deceased was completed yesterday, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons.

Investigating officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward, particularly those who were in the Drumcairn estate area of Tallaght between 3am and 4am on Friday, July 26.

A Garda statement said: “Gardai continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward, particularly those who were in the Drumcairn Estate area of Tallaght, Dublin 24, between 3am and 4am on Friday 26th July 2024.

“Individuals with video recordings, including motorists with dash cams, from the area within the timeframe are also asked to provide footage to investigating gardai”.
