The hooded thief entered the Drimnagh Road Retail Centre premises on Monday, armed with a knife, and stole a small amount of cash from the till.

A Centra staff member told The Echo they posted the CCTV images in the unlikely hope that it will result in an arrest.

“We put it up as a deterrent, gardai are dealing with it, and were on the scene within ten minutes,” said the staff member.

The Centra Drimnagh post online said: “Hey guys, we are looking for your help in trying identify this lad who thinks it’s alright to walk into shops waving knives at staff members. His face is covered but surely somebody recognises him from his clothing, quite distinctive runners and jacket. Probably in his late 20s and about 5ft 6 tall.”

Sundrive Garda Station are investigating the incident.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Sundrive Garda Station at 6666200.
