Sister Shed to open in Lucan
A SISTER shed will open in Lucan on February 23.
The initiative is supported by Sister Sheds, South Dublin County Council and Adamstown Youth & Community Centre, where the initiative will be located.
Cllr Liona O’Toole (Ind) sought support last year from council management and councillors to develop a plan for extending Adamstown Community Centre, in line with agreements made during the design and construction phases.
O’Toole’s motion at an area meeting in December, said the sister shed initiative aims to complement existing community groups, fostering camaraderie, skill-sharing, and mutual support.
Sister Sheds say their aim is to provide support and safe space for women of all ages but also providing activities that focus on promoting mental health and wellbeing.
