Six blocks of apartments for Citywest Shopping Centre

PLANS for a 290-unit apartment development at the Citywest Shopping Centre have been lodged with An Bord Pleanála.
Developer OBSF Limited lodged the plans with An Bord Pleanála (ABP) last week, where they outlined the plans for the residential development, which is to be called Citywest Drive.

The development is to be a mixed-use residential scheme, with the apartment units being housed in six blocks with balconies/terraces to be provided on all elevations at all levels, for each block.
Provision for a childcare facility, four retail units and two café/restaurant units is also included in the application.
The apartment blocks are to be located at various locations around greenspace surrounding the shopping centre, near the car park and also near McDonald’s.
In terms of height, two of the blocks are to be six storeys, one to be four to five storeys high, one to be five to six storeys high, one is to be five to seven storeys high, and one is to be five storeys high.
It is proposed that car parking will be supplied by the development of 153 parking spaces at surface level and the existing basement level of the shopping centre, including the re-allocation of 37 existing car-parking spaces and the re-allocation of 49 spaces from commercial to residential use at the existing basement level of the centre.
The shopping centre is also listed as the location for a proposed 296-unit residential development, plans for which were lodged with ABP by Citywest Shopping Centre last May.
However, ABP ruled in July that the plans required “further consideration/amendment”.
Concerning OBSF Limited’s current application for Citywest Drive, a decision on the application is due by February 3 next year.
