Sod-turning on park upgrade
THE SOD-turning ceremony took place for the upgrade works at St Cuthbert’s Park this week.
Works are commencing this month and will be under progress through summer and into autumn.
Speaking at the event, Cllr Francis Timmons, Chair of the Clondalkin, Newcastle, Rathcoole, Saggart and Brittas Area Committee, said: “The park will provide improved walking and cycling routes, a range of play facilities for children of all ages, a space for teenagers, improved sports pitches, an all-weather MUGA, more tree-planting, increased biodiversity and better views into St Cuthberts Church.”
The councillor acknowledged and thanked the community for their assistance and input during the design stage and their support for St Cuthberts Park in general.
He was joined by fellow councillors and Deputy Mark Wark, staff of South Dublin County Council and guests to celebrate this event.
