Spartan Lucan in big medal haul
SPARTAN Lucan Kickboxing Club enjoyed a strong return from their first-ever competition, the recent Tallaght MA Open in Citywest.
Established only last March, the club, based in Scoil Mhuiire, Woodview, was able to field 10 fighters in the event and carded a haul of 11 medals, including four gold.
Among those who went top of the podium in their respective divisions were Nathan McGovern (double gold), Demi-Jaime Carroll and Shane Wynne.
Others who medalled for the club were Jamie Lambe, Kayleigh Kilduff-Fox, Jamie Flynn, Tadgh Keane, Teaghan O’Neill and Alfie Taylor, while Tadgh McAndrew, narrowly missed out on bronze despite a very impressive display.
Next up for the club will be the Best of the Best Tournament in Roadstone on September 30 with Bushido MA Rumble taking place a day later.
Certainly Spartan Lucan Club coaches Jordan White and Sophie Larkin will be very much encouraged by the performance of their young protégés, and will be hoping for another good showing in their upcoming outings.
