Established in 1994, St Rose’s is part of the Scoileanna Aonghusa campus in Castle Park, Tallaght, and is a ‘happy, child-centred, friendly school’.

According to Principal Anne Marie Kealy, St Rose’s has seven class teachers and a pupil/teacher ratio of 9:1.

There are currently 63 children in the school ranging from third to sixth class, with pupils attending for two years before returning to mainstream.

According to Ms Kealy: “The school had a very special celebration on November 20 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the school.

“Past pupils and their parents, past teachers and board members, teachers from neighbouring schools and the local ICA group joined the pupils and staff for a ceremony of thanksgiving.

“Bishop Eamonn Walsh celebrated Mass in St Aengus Church with Fr Pat Lucey, Fr Ben Moran and Fr Al Leonard.

“Guests were then invited to the school hall where the parents’ association provided refreshments and were entertained by the pupil’s singing a special St Rose’s song.”

The past pupils who attended visited the classrooms and shared their experiences of moving on from St Rose’s, and gave valuable advice.

“The day ended with a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday,” Ms Kealy said.

“A great day of thanksgiving and memories for all.”
