BALLYBODEN St Enda’s will have two teams playing Senior Hurling in 2020 after their intermediates were cata-pulted into the Senior ranks with a 1-26 to 0-13 win over Parnell’s to scoop the AHL3 title – with the team subsequently being named The Echo Team of the Month for August.
TALLAGHT’S Lenny Ryan was one of those who represented Team Ireland at the World Transplant Games in Newcastle, competing in Darts, Petanque and Tenpin Bowling.

TALLAGHT AC athletes excelled at the National Masters Track and Field Championships with Laura McDonnell scooping silver in the W35 3000m and Sharon Tighe topping the podium in the W50 3000m.

A PARTICULAR high-light was Browne’s performance as she captured gold by blitzing the -65kg Points Fighting field in her first year at Junior, winning four bouts en route to the final and she was declared The Echo Sports Star of the Month for August.
TALLAGHT footballer Jonathon Afolabi was picked up on a free transfer by Celtic FC after being released by Southampton.
SHAMROCK Rovers Amputee squad capped off a fine season claiming the IAFA 2019 title, making it a league and cup double after capturing the Sean McCaffrey Foundation Cup earlier in the season.
FOCUSING more on the shorter distances at the ICF World Canoe Sprint Championships in Szeged, Hungary, Lucan kayaker Jenny Egan set a new PB and national record of 40.64 in the 200m C Final.
DANIELLE Valentine struck a goal deep into second-half stoppage-time to clinch Wanderers GAA a dramatic 2-8 to 2-7 triumph over Templeogue Synge Street in the Junior ‘E’ Ladies Football Championship decider.
