All of our monthly teams are in the running for Sports Team of the Year award.

The Sports Awards are supported by Active South Dublin and South Dublin County Council.

 

January Sports Team

Dublin Lions Basketball

January was a month to remember for Clondalkin side Dublin Lions when they claimed the Women’s Division One National Cup, in their maiden season as a Division One Club.

February Sports Team

Tallaght Rugby Women’s Team

It was a great month for Tallaght Rugby Club Women’s Team when they claimed the Leinster Division Five League crown.

March Sports Team

Glenanne men’s Hockey Team

The Tallaght based outfit secured the Leinster Championship Mills Cup trophy after a hard-fought 3-0 victory against YMCA at Grange Road on St Patrick’s Day.

April Sports Team

Clondalkin Rugby Club women’s team

At the end of what has seemed like a very long season the Clondalkin Women J1s had plenty to shout about when they lifted the Paul Flood Plate title after seeing off Naas 19-12 in the decider in Carlow IT.

May Sports Team

Kilnamanagh Football Club U12s

The Month of May was one to remember for Kilnamanagh Football Club’s girls U12 team when they claimed the All-Ireland crown for the very first time.

June Sports Team

Lucan United FC

Lucan United Football Club senior mens’ team secured the Metropolitan Cup for the first time in their club’s history last month. The Lucan side came out tops in the final when they overcame the challenge of Bluebell United at the UCD Bowl.

July Sports Team

TU Dublin Badminton team

Students from TU Dublin Tallaght campus were fundamental in helping the badminton team achieve a bronze medal at the European University Championships in Hungary.

August Sports Team

Round Tower senior ladies football team

It has been a superb season for Round Tower’s senior ladies football team. The Clondalkin side completed the treble by winning the Junior ‘E’ Championship, league and cup competitions. Tower’s put together a string of fine performances with impressive victories throughout their campaign.

September Sports Team

Castle Golf Club

Castle Golf Club had plenty to cheer about when they claimed the AIG Men’s Senior Cup at Dun Laoghaire.

October Sports Team

Peamount United

Peamount United lifted the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division trophy for the fourth time in their history in October.

November Sports Team

Tallaght Martial Arts

Tallaght Martial Arts were on top of the World at the WAKO Senior World Championships in Albufeira, Portugal taking home seven medals of the nine taken by Team Ireland.

December Sports Team

Ballyboden: St Enda’s U21 Footballers

Ballyboden St Enda’s U21 footballers completed their 2023 season by winning the championship title after seeing off Ballymun Kickhams.
