St Mark’s GAA raise €1,200 for VISIT
By William O'Connor
ST MARK’S GAA Club held a fun quiz before Christmas and raised €1,200 for VISIT, the homeless charity, reports William O’Connor.
The Springfield club held a fundraiser on the night and prizes were sponsored by local companies.
The MC’s for the event were Noel and Liz Farrell.
“I would like to thank everyone for their support,” said St Mark’s chairperson Pat McCann.
“We had a great turn out on the night and it was great that we could present a cheque of €1,200 to a worthy cause,” said Patsy.
On another note, St Mark’s are hoping to start work on their all-weather facility in McGee Park by April.
“All the paper work is in order and we are hoping to start in early April which will be a big boost to the club and area in general,” he added.
