St Pat’s to face Bluebell United in EA Sports Cup first round

The EA Sports Cup first round draw has just taken place and it has thrown up an interesting local derby involving the current holders, St Patrick’s Athletic.

Liam Buckley’s men will host double Leinster Senior League winners Bluebell United at Richmond Park in what should be an interesting local derby.

The sides only faced off last month in a pre-season friendly, with the Saints running out comfortable 5-0 winners.

Both teams find themselves in Pool Three along with Drogheda United, Bray Wanderers, Dundalk and UCD.

Elsewhere, Shamrock Rovers have received a first round bye, with Stephen Bradley’s men placed in Pool Four alongside Athlone Town, Longford Town, Bohemians, Cabinteely and Shelbourne.

Matches are to be played on Monday/Tuesday, March 20th/21st with dates and times to be confirmed at a later date.
