Susie was ‘everything bright in this world’

TRIBUTES have poured in for Ballyfermot mother Susan ‘Susie’ Reilly (52), who passed away on Sunday, following a sudden illness.
Ms Reilly, a married mother of two from Landen Road, worked in Woodlands Crèche and After School Service at Ballyfermot Family Resource Centre for the last 11 years.

Woodlands Crèche posted a touching tribute to their colleague and “dear friend” on social media, which was widely shared and commented on by shocked residents who praised Ms Reilly as a “kind, compassionate woman” and “one in a million” who was “everything bright in this world.”
The Woodlands post was penned by Roslyn Gibbons Richardson, who said staff were “shocked and heartbroken by the devastating news.”
“Sue was such a beautiful, kind, gentle and caring person who loved and adored the children she cared for, always making sure they are happy and that they knew how special they were to her. And of course, they adored and loved her in return.
“Words cannot describe how much Susie was loved by us all, for we are not just grieving for a colleague, but for a very special friend.”
Woodlands said Susie had a “unique and special friendship” with everyone she knew and “greeted us all with a big smile.”
The tribute continued: “Every day Sue talked about her Kim and Brendan [children], telling us how proud she was of them, and how lucky she was to have them. We heard of all their accomplishments and got to know her children through her stories.
“Our deepest condolences are with Susie’s family. We have been very honoured and privileged to have had Sue in our lives at Woodlands Crèche for the past 11 years, and for giving us the most incredible memories we will cherish forever.”
A message on RIP.ie said Ms Reilly is beloved wife of Paul, loving mother of Kim and Brendan, much loved sister of Johnny, and the late Tommy, sadly missed by family and friends.
A funeral service is due to be held on Friday at St Teresa’s Church, Donore Avenue.
