
Suspected cannabis herb worth €3.36m seized in Lucan
DRUGS worth an estimated €3.36 million was seized by gardai following the search of a vehicle in the Lucan area on Friday.
Following the search of the vehicle, suspected cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €3.36 million was seized and two men were arrested yesterday.
Gardai have confirmed that the man (aged 34) is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice (Court 2) this morning, Saturday, September 9.
The second man (aged 48) who was arrested in relation to this investigation has been released without charge. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
A garda statement released said: “In the course of ongoing investigations targeting persons suspected to be involved in organised crime, personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), intercepted a vehicle in the Lucan area of West Dublin.
“The subsequent search of a vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €3.36 million, subject to analysis”.
