‘Tá mo croí i Scoil Santain’ says proud gaelscoil principal
FORTY-FOUR years ago, Róisín Ní Chearúil was part of the first cohort of students in Scoil Santain – she is now the principal of the school, having proudly spent the majority of her teaching career there.
Róisín grew up in Old Bawn and, while her parents weren’t Irish speakers, they had an interest in the language and enrolled their daughter in senior infants in Scoil Santain when it opened in 1979.
