Table toppers Peamount drawn to face Shels

Peamount United will be back facing old rivals Shelbourne at the start of next month having been drawn to face their Dublin rivals away in the semi finals of the So Hotels Women's National League Cup.

The winners of the competition last year, Peamount have already beaten Shels 2-0 at home in the National League, but will be expecting another tough encounter at Tolka Park on June 1.

The winners will face either Limerick or champions Wexford Youths in the decider later this season.

Peamount currently lead the way in the race for this year’s Women’s National League crown having won all of their opening six games.

Their latest victory came at Eamonn Deacy Park on Saturday when they edged out Galway Women’s FC 1-2, their opener arriving in the first minute in the form of a composed finish by Louise Masterson.

The homeside restored parity a half hour in when Tessa Mullins was found by Sinead Donovan’s free kick and she rifled the ball home.

But Peamount were not about to drop their first points of the season and Ireland senior international Amber Barrett served up a 76th minute winner when her effort hit  the top corner despite the best efforts of Galway netminder Tina Hughes.

Next up for James O’Callaghan’s side will be a clash with DLR Waves at Jackson Park this Saturday.
