Takeda pharmaceutical given the green light in Grange Castle

PLANS for a new pharmaceutical production facility in Grange Castle Business Park in Clondalkin have been given the green light by South Dublin County Council.

Takeda Ireland Ltd lodged the application for planning permission in January, which will see Japan’s largest pharmaceutical company expand their Irish operations.

The plans include the construction of a predominantly single-storey pharmaceutical production facility, which will be at a height of 15.95 m.

A partial two-storey plant room, an enclosed rooftop plant platform and a single storey 126 sq. m electrical building are also included in the plans.

There are also provisions for an external utility yard for tanks and equipment, a 16 sq. m single-storey pump house, a waste storage area and an underground fire water storage tank.

Car parking will be provided, with 37 car parking spaces on site, three of these car parking spaces will be accessible and four will be specifically for electric cars.

There will also be a bicycle shelter and a smoking shelter as part of the development.

 

New hard and soft landscaping and modifications to existing berm also form part of the application, while circulation roads and footpaths are also to be included.

Temporary construction access will be provided to the east of the site, there will be a new site fence to match the existing fence, and the existing temporary access point will be retained for the purposes of emergency access only. Planning permission was granted by the council on March 27.
