Tallaght athletes impress in Indoor League

TALLAGHT Athletic Club’s Rhasidat Adeleke made an impressive start to the new year after carding first and third place finishes in the two 60m races she contested in the National Indoor League in the National Indoor Arena.

The 2019 double European Youth Olympic gold medallist at 100m and 200m, won out in the Guest 60m Series 1 registering a new PB of 7.40.

And she was back out again in the second Series, this time coming home third in another strong time of 7.49, behind fellow Ireland international Molly Scott and winner Joan Healy.

Adeleke’s clubmates Joseph Ojewumi and Simon Essuman were also in action in the National Indoor League, the former winning the Guest 60m Series One in a time of 7.07 while Essuman finished runner-up in the same race, equalling his PB of 7.13.

They both contested the second series 60m with Ojewumi finishing fifth in 7.00 and Essuman again equalling his PB of 7.13 on his way to sixth in what were very encouraging starts to the new year.
