Tallaght families win a total of €89,000 on Winning Streak

TWO people from Tallaght danced their way to a fortune on this week’s Winning Streak game show, winning €89,000 between them.

The duo were helped along the way by some of last year’s Dancing with the Stars celebrities, in a special edition of the National Lottery gameshow on RTE One last Saturday.

On the show, the five Winning Streak players were matched to five of last year’s Dancing with the Stars contestants. Solicitor, Mary-Claire Coakely, from Bohernabreena was matched with Dayl Cronin, former member of boyband, Hometown and he turned out to be a lucky charm as Mary-Claire won a massive €62,000.

Luas driver, Tony O’Reilly, from Kingswood also fared out well, winning a cool €27,000 and it certainly wasn’t an “unnecessary journey” as he was matched with RTE reporter, Teresa Mannion.

Tony O’Reilly is possibly the least excitable person in Dublin. He is delighted to have got on the Winning Streak game show but admits that his family was more excited about the news than him.

Tony worked for many years as a sales manager but took an interesting career pivot 13-years-ago and is now a Luas driver.

He is interested in motorbikes and has a Harley Davidson CVO Roadglide which he loves taking out on the road. He is a member of the Gaelic Chapter motorcycle club in Dublin. He also enjoys the occasional game of golf.

Bohernabreena

Bohernabreena’s Mary-Claire Coakley, was at a course last Saturday week and instead of business cards the course facilitator gave out flower type cards which she claimed brought luck to everyone who was in possession of one.

Fast forward a few hours and Mary was at home in Bohernabreena watching Winning Streak when she was left dumbstruck when Marty pulled her name out of the Winning Streak drum. That was one really lucky flower!

Originally from Ballincollig, Co Cork but now living in Dublin, Mary-Claire has worked in the legal profession for more than 10 years and works for DFMG Solicitors.

Mary-Claire has had a busy 12 months as she married husband Conor McMahon last October and spent a lot of the past year organising the wedding. She also has a landmark celebration on the horizon as she will turn 40 next month.

Conor cheered her on from the RTE audience along with her brother, also called Conor, and her aunt Angela.

With her winnings from the game show, Mary-Claire and Conor hope to finally take their honeymoon. The couple would love to travel along the east coast of the US to places such as Las Vegas and to Napa Valley.
