
Tallaght man allegedly assaulted motorist with a metal chain

A TALLAGHT man who allegedly assaulted a motorist with a metal chain after the motorist rear-ended him had his case remanded by Blanchardstown Court.
The court Judge David McHugh accepted jurisdiction in David White’s case. White, aged 54, with an address Gleann Na hEorna, Springfield, Tallaght, is charged with assaulting a named male causing him harm and producing a metal chain at Leixlip Road, Lucan, on May 17, 2016.
He is also charged with failing to appear at Blanchardstown Court on February 23, 2017.
The court had heard it will be alleged that White was driving on the Leixlip Road on May 17, 2016 and the injured party was behind him.
White allegedly stopped suddenly and the injured party went into the back of White’s car.
The injured party then allegedly got out of his car and asked White for his details.
White allegedly became aggressive and produced a metal chain and struck the man twice in the head.
The injured party allegedly received two lacerations in the head and his wallet was taken from his car.
White was before Judge McHugh for a plea or a date for hearing. White’s solicitor asked the judge for further time to go through the disclosure in the case.
Judge McHugh remanded White on continuing bail to a date at the end of September for a plea or a date for hearing.
