BREAKING: Tallaght man charged with murder

A TALLAGHT man has appeared in court this morning, Monday, charged with the murder of Graham McKeever in Tallaght last February.

Keith Connerton (39) was remanded in custody by Judge Bernadette Owens to be brought before Court 5 in the CCJ on Friday (September 15).

Connerton, aged 39, with an address at Deerpark Avenue, Tallaght, is charged with murdering Mr McKeever at Deerpark Avenue on February 18 last.

Garda Kieran Kilcoyne told Judge Owens that he arrested Connerton at his address at Deerpark Avenue at 7.33am on Monday morning for the murder of Graham McKeever on February 18 last. He said he cautioned Connerton and he made no reply.

Garda Kilcoyne said Connerton was brought to Tallaght Garda Station where he was charged at 10am by Sergeant Brian Wharton. He said Connerton made no reply.

Garda Kilcoyne asked for a remand in custody as it is a murder charge. Connertons’ counsel, George Burns Bl, made an application for and was granted legal aid.

Judge Owens remanded Connerton in custody to be brought before Court 5 in the CCJ on Friday, September 15.

Mr McKeever, a father of one, was found outside an apartment block at Deerpark Avenue, Tallaght, by emergency services in the early hours of Saturday, February 18 last. He was unconscious and had suffered several stab wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics’ attempts to revive him failed.
