TUH warns community of automated call scam

TALLAGHT University Hospital has warned the community of a telephone scam involving an automated call from a hospital number.

Through a post on Facebook this morning, the local hospital advised people to ignore any automated calls from 01 6991488, which is a Tallaght University Hospital number.

The warning read: “If you receive an automated call from 01 6991488 requesting your name and number – please do not give out this information.

“This is a Tallaght University Hospital number, but legitimate calls from this number will never be automated and as such any calls from this number that are automated should be ignored.”

The hospital stressed that while it does use this number, legitimate calls from 01 6991488 will never be automated.
