Teen accused of stabbing neighbour in head with knife

A TEENAGER (17) accused of stabbing a neighbour in the head a number of times with a knife has been sent forward for trial to the Circuit Court.

Jurisdiction had previously been refused in the case.

He was before Judge Patricia McNamara in Tallaght Court for service of his book of evidence.

He was accompanied by his aunt.

The teenager, with addresses in Tallaght and Crumlin, is charged with assaulting a man causing him harm and with producing a knife on a street in Tallaght on September 15, 2016.

The court had heard it will be alleged that the teenager attacked a neighbour on the above date and stabbed him in the head with a knife a number of times.

A Solicitor for the DPP told Judge McNamara that the book of evidence was ready to be served.

He said the DPP had consented for the teenager to be sent forward on bail to the next sitting of the Circuit Court.

Judge McNamara sent the teenager forward on bail to the next sitting of the Circuit Court.

As part of his bail he must stay out of Tallaght and have no contact with the injured party.
