He was accompanied in court by his mother and father.

Just before Christmas, the accused’s 15-year-old brother and another 17 year-old who are also charged with the same rape were sent forward for trial to the Central Criminal Court.

The accused had not been in court as he was on holiday in Spain, the court had heard.

The case had been adjourned for two weeks and it was peremptory against the defendant.

The teenager, (17), who has an address in Tallaght is charged with raping the female at a location in Tallaght on January 25, 2016.

A Solicitor for the DPP told Judge McNamara that the book was ready to be served.

She said the DPP had consented for the defendant to be sent forward for trial to the next sitting of the Central Criminal Court.

Judge McNamara issued the alibi caution to the teenager and sent him forward on bail to the next sitting of the Central Criminal Court. As part of his bail he must stay away and have no contact with the alleged injured party.
