At District Court 55 on December 14 last, he had been sentenced to six months for handling stolen property and possession of drugs for sale or supply.
O’Neill’s solicitor, Terry Hanahoe, said his client had started drinking at the age of 12 and started heavy drinking when he was 16.
He said O’Neill is currently serving a sentence. Judge McHugh said he was not going to increase O’Neill’s sentence.
He sentenced O’Neill to six month detention, suspended for two years on the criminal damage and took the other charges into consideration.
