Both teams had come through their respective pool games before emerging victorious from the quarter and semi-final, Templeogue seeing off Coolmine Community School in the last four in which Daniel Carberry amassed a stunning 37 points.
The final would prove a much tighter affair and it was Malahide who enjoyed the slightly better start, taking a three-point advantage into the second quarter and they remained out in front until the second half.
Jack Finn kept Templeogue in touch with three of the five three-pointers he carded on the day while Eoin Timmons spearheaded the Malahide attack.
With little between the sides, Templeogue stepped up their defence in the third quarter and took a number of scores from fast breaks, outscoring their opponents 18-9 in this period.
Sean Fitzpatrick continued to prove a threat for, but Carberry was equal to the challenge and hit 17, dominating the boards at both ends of the court.
Daire Murray and Jacob Fazande served up some long range shooting in the final quarter while Christian McDonald kept the scoreboard ticking over for Malahide.
Yet the northsiders could not deal with driving and shooting force of Jack Finn who accumulated a game high total of 21 points, helping his side retain the East Under 16A trophy.
The same two teams will meet in the All-Ireland Cup semi final in the National Basketball Arena on December 9.
