He added that not a huge amount of damage was done bar the exterior damage to the window, which has now been fixed.

Mr Brady stressed that there was nothing of value to be taken, with no money ever kept on the premises.

The club, which has provided gardai with CCTV, has asked club and community members to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity.

In a statement to The Echo, a Garda spokesperson confirmed that they are investigating a burglary at a clubhouse on the Cookstown Road in Tallaght.

According to gardai, no arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
