
Three men arrested following robbery at post office
THREE men were arrested by gardai following a robbery at a post office in Ballyfermot on Thursday afternoon.
A sum of cash was taken after three men entered the post office around 12.20pm with a sledgehammer and an intimidation firearm.
One of the men arrested was aged in his 30s and the other men were aged in their 40s.
There was no injuries during the frightening incident.
A Garda statement released said: “Gardai have made three arrests following a robbery at a post office in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10, on Thursday afternoon, 23rd November 2023.
“Three people entered into the post office at approximately 12.20pm with a sledgehammer and what is understood to have been an imitation firearm.
“A sum of cash was taken. No injuries were reported. Later [on Thursday afternoon], Gardai arrested three men as part of their investigation.
“The men, one in his 30s and the other two in aged in their 40s are currently detained at Garda Stations in the Dublin region”.
Investigations are still ongoing, according to gardai.
