Top marks for community college students in Leaving Cert
LUCAN Community College is very happy with the results of their 142 Leaving Certificate graduates.
Our 130 students achieved very high results across the board and 83 per cent of the school’s students achieved a distinction, with two achieving perfect scores.
Most students were feeling confident that they would receive a preferred offer from the CAO on Wednesday and some students have already been offered a place on a course of further education, an apprenticeship or a job.
Mr Carey, their year-head and the tutor team, who worked closely with the students, were particularly delighted for the students after all of their hard work.
“Many of these students experienced personal struggle over the last few years and have shown resilience and achieved wonderful results,” said Mr Carey.
Particular mention goes to Dylan Harford and Hannah Lynch who achieved full marks on the LCA certificate and to Alen Proshkovichs, Anna O’Connor, Meabh Egan and Adriano Fiore, some of the highest point achievers.
Principal Ms Birnie commended the students on their resilience and reminded them that “this is just one step on your journey, so enjoy the moment but remember that your results do not define you.”
She also expressed her thanks to the parents/guardians for their support for the students and the school and praised the teachers, SNAs and all the school staff for preparing the students for their examinations and all that life has to offer in the future.
