Trawled in Tallaght Theatre
Ballyboden wellness coach Eoin Ryan is bringing his new play, a one-man biological drama true story, ‘Trawled’, to the Tallaght Theatre! writes Ryan Butler.
It is written by and stars Eoin, as it contains an important message to “get help,” which he is passionate about.
Starting as an adventure, it quickly turns dramatical when the protagonist is plunged into unforeseen trials, testing his very limits of survival.
This is an exuberant story of adventure, crisis, and brutality culminating in an unforgettable moment of redemptive grace.
Eoin reveals that the idea for the play came about from him performing a TEDx talk, as he knew “I’d have to act it rather than speak it.”
A total of eleven months has been dedicated to this product. He continued, “I’ve always felt passionate about sharing this story and the message, so putting in the long hours was never a problem.”
Preparation consisted of “hours upon hours” of rehearsing in his sitting room.
As the play is 86 minutes long, he could only manage three rehearsals a day.
The Sean O’Casey theatre was also hired for two days to get the lighting sequence programmed.
Eight dates are booked for the first quarter of 2024 in different parts of the country, with more bookings on the way, as well as the show’s return to Dublin.
Eoin is also hoping to perform the play in Australia.
Eoin would like to thank trusted friends, his mentor from Minding Creative Minds, and his co-director Gabriel Graves for helping with this production.
‘Trawled’ will be performed on September 23 in the Tallaght Theatre.
It has an age rating of 16 years and over. Tickets are on sale HERE.
