Tributes pour in for Stephen Lynch as community rallies to support family

Tributes have been pouring in for murdered Stephen Lynch (32) from Tallaght who was brutally killed on Thursday evening in Brookview.

Investigations are continuing into the death of the father of three, and many have been paying their respects through the Stephen Lynch Memorial Page over the last 24 hours or so.

Those who wish to share stories, memories and pictures of Stephen have been invited to do so on the page, with many from within the community and further afield showing their support through messages.

That support for the bereaved family has also been visible outside the family home in Glenshane where a huge number of people have paid their respects.

Stephen was not involved in criminality and was not known to Gardai.

The investigation into his death has been focused on the discovery of two vehicles that were used by those involved.

Speaking on Friday, Superintendent Peter Duff, from Tallaght Garda Station said gardai were trying to establish the movements of the four men involved, and what manner they arrived and left the scene.

A Ford Focus remained at the scene after the attack, and was subsequently taken away by gardai for investigation.

A red Volkswagen Polo found in the Crumlin area has also been taken away by gardai.

Gardai are also examining CCTV footage of the area.

An incident room has been opened in Tallaght Garda Station.

Supt Duff appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
