Two men arrested following drug seizure in Clondalkin

GARDAI seized drugs worth an estimated €17,000 and arrested two men following a search operation in Clondalkin on Thursday.

According to An Garda Siochana, the searches were carried out under Operation Tara and targeted ongoing, recent criminal activity in the Clondalkin area.

A Garda statement said: “Seven properties were searched by gardai attached to the Lucan District and the Dublin Crime Response Team with assistance from the Garda Dog Unit.

“Quantities of cannabis herb, cocaine and diamorphine were seized by investigating gardai, with an estimated street value totalling €17,000.

“The drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.”

Two men (aged in their 20s) were arrested during the course of the operation and are currently detained for questioning.

Investigations are ongoing, gardai said.
