Two people hospitalised following collision with Luas on Red Line

Two people have been taken to hospital following a collision involving a tram on the Luas Red Line this afternoon.

The line between Blackhorse and Smithfield was closed for a period of time as emergency services dealt with the incident at Steevens Lane – near to Heuston Station.

Units from Dublin Fire Brigade and Gardai attended the scene, with a DFB spokespersons saying: “Two patients have been taken to hospital following the RTC on Steeven’s Lane.

“Dolphins Barn, HQ and our Advanced Paramedic car attended.”

The Red Line route was reopened shortly before 3pm.
