Up to 50 youths involved in organised fight between schools

MORE than 50 uniform-clad youths were involved in an organised fight between two Tallaght schools this week, The Echo has learned.
At around 4.30pm on Wednesday, January 13, Tallaght Garda Station responded to a call concerning a large gang of young people fighting in the vicinity of Ambervale Estate in Springfield.
According to Garda reports, it is believed that more than 50 young people were engaged in what is believed to have been an “organised” fight between two Tallaght schools.
A Garda source told The Echo that when officers arrived at the scene, the gang quickly dispersed in the direction of the Belgard Industrial Estate, with only one male apprehended and brought home by patrol car.
No injuries have been reported and no evidence that weapons were used was found at the scene.
