
Update on school projects at TCS and Sancta Maria College
IN A recent parliamentary question addressed to the Minister for Education, John Lahart, Fianna Fáil TD for Dublin South West, sought updates on significant school building projects in the constituency.
Lahart’s inquiry specifically focused on Sancta Maria College in Ballyroan and Tallaght Community School, two well established educational institutions in the constituency.
The Sancta Maria College project is now at Stage 3, getting ready for the tender process. It involves renovating the college and building a new Sports Hall due to issues with the original contract.
The Design Team is selecting potential contractors, and once chosen, the project will move forward. The Department promises to keep the school informed.
For Tallaght Community School, this project is part of the Department’s Construction Programme.
It aims to create a new post-primary school for 1,000 students, including facilities for 6 classrooms for children with special needs.
A professional Project Manager will oversee the Design Team to ensure smooth progress from planning to construction.
