‘We’ve done everything against Cork except win’
ST PATRICK’S Athletic defender Simon Madden feels his side are due a win against defending Airtricity League champions Cork City.
Liam Buckley’s side travel to Turners Cross on Sunday for another date with the Leesiders hoping to dent their title prospects and preserve their hopes of a top-four finish.

Madden believes the Inchicore side have been unlucky against the title holders this season most notably in their 3-2 loss to them in their season opener back in February.
A late Kieran Sadlier goal stole the spoils for Cork on that occasion and further disappointing losses to the champions followed in April and May.
“We’ve done everything against Cork this season except win,” Madden told The Echo.
“We’ve been very unlucky against them. In the first match of the season we lost 3-2 against them when we should have definitely gotten something.
“We do create a lot of chances, we just have a problem scoring them. We’ve got to get back to keeping clean sheets, get back to basics.”
Pat’s have rediscovered some form, winning two of their last three league games and serving up a a heavy 5-0 defeat to their non-league neighbours Inchicore Athletic in the FAI Cup.
“We went through a bad spell there, but that win against Limerick was massive for us,” said Madden.
“We were unlucky against Derry, probably should have won, and that would have been a nice three-in-a-row after beating Bray the following week,” he added.
