
Witness appeal following cash-in-transit robbery
GARDAI are investigating a cash-in-transit robbery that occurred in Crumlin yesterday afternoon.
Garda have issued a statement, appealing for witnesses to the incident outside a post office on St Agnes Road on Thursday, June 1, to come forward.
According to a Garda statement: “Shortly before 1pm, two males, one of whom was armed with an imitation firearm, approached a male security employee outside a post office on the St Agnes Road in Crumlin and threatened him, demanding the contents of the cash box he was transporting.
“The males then took the cash box and fled the scene on an electric scooter and a bicycle via the St Agnes Road in the direction of Windmill Road.
“No injuries were reported during the course of this incident.
“The imitation firearm used during this incident has been recovered by gardai.”
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the St Agnes Road/Windmill Road between 12.30pm and 1.30pm are asked to make footage available to gardai.
