A KNOCKLYON mother of three has spoken out about her success with her Wonder Label product, which consists of ultra-sticky and durable stickers tailormade for children’s belongings, and how she hopes to continue to grow her My Little Wonderful business.

Jen Lawlor came up with the idea for her debut Wonder Labels product when she was on maternity leave and was finding it difficult to manage her daily tasks for her children, such as getting them ready for school, organising schoolbags, and getting them to various sports groups.

In a bid to make things run more smoothly, Jen started reorganising some of her children’s things, like where their clothes, shoes, toys and books were stored, and using coloured cards with marker pens to easily see which child owned the miscellaneous items and clothing.

“Very soon, without consciously realising it, the stress levels began to reduce,” explained Jen.

“There was less frustration, bickering and bad tempers. Getting control of clutter and disorganisation in my home made it easier for me to feel more in control of life in general.

“Simple and effective solutions were the key to a more wonderful family life – and My Little Wonderful was born.”

Out of this, Jen developed the Wonder Label product, which are colourful and durable personalised stickers that easily affix to children’s belongings, including clothing labels and toys, and the stickers are washable, waterproof, heat resistant and suitable for outdoor use.

“We launched just before back-to-school time in 2018 and we were inundated with orders,” she said.

“We had a product that everyone needed and that made labelling a breeze. This product also kept with our ethos of taking as much stress as possible out of daily tasks.

“No more ironing labels on clothing (a tedious and annoying task) or writing on lunch boxes and drinks bottles with permanent markers. With Wonder Labels you just stick and go.”

Jen is now hoping to build on this success, along with the two other co-founders of My Little Wonderful – her husband David Lawlor and brother-in-law Aidan Lawlor – and is currently attending a Going for Growth, Starting Strong programme for female entrepreneurs, having recently completed the New Frontiers Business Development pro-gramme.

When discussing her plans for the growth of the business, Jen said: “[We will be] adding to our routine of regular online content, including weekly journal posts, monthly newsletters, e-books and printable downloads.

“We have some exciting new product launches planned for 2020, and we are also in the process of setting up exciting new partnerships with other retailers.”
