Woodie’s staff in South Dublin raised over €65,000 for charities
OVER €65,000 was raised for charity by Woodie’s staff in South Dublin, including employees in Tallaght, Lucan and the Naas Road.
The money was raised through the Woodie’s Heroes campaign, in aid of ISPCC Childline, Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland, Down Syndrome Ireland and Make-A-Wish Ireland.
Staff in the Tallaght branch raised €19,627, Woodie’s Lucan raised €14,340, while the Naas Road shop raised €4,006.
The Woodie’s Heroes campaign began in 2015 and has been held every year since then – this year’s campaign took place in Woodie’s stores over a four-week period, beginning in mid-July.
During the four-week period, Woodie’s staff encouraged shoppers to donate in-store with till buttons and additional fundraising activities.
At the end of the in-store campaign, two teams of cyclists visited all 35 stores and collected the cheques for the money raised throughout the campaign.
“Woodie’s colleagues across south Dublin were overjoyed by the generosity and support shown to them during the campaign by their local community and wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of those that donated,” said a Woodie’s spokesperson.
“After four weeks of fundraising, it was a proud moment for the colleagues in-store when they presented the cheques.
“The money raised will make a meaningful difference to the children and families who are supported by these four amazing charities: ISPCC Childline, Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland, Down Syndrome Ireland, and Make-A-Wish Ireland.”
