Woofing Oven’s gourmet dog treats hits the spot
A HOBBY that quickly grew into a passion, led to the formation of a start-up business that is thriving.
Georgia González baked a cake for her dog’s birthday two years ago and this simple task was the catalyst for her business idea – a bakery dedicated to crafting gourmet dog treats.
“Seeing the joy and the love she received that day inspired me to create homemade celebration treats for dogs,” said Georgia.
Fusing a love for dogs and baking, the Woofing Oven was established in October 2022.
“At the beginning, we operated as a home-run bakery dedicated to crafting gourmet dog treats.
“Since February 2024, we moved our production to ACE Enterprise Park in Clondalkin, keeping our commitment to South Dublin local produce,” said Georgia, who is originally from Venezuela and has been living in Ireland since 2012.
Since launching, the business has been steadily growing.
“I began selling treats at farmer markets while working an office job.
“However, when my job required me to return to the office full-time, I chose to fully commit to The Woofing Oven.
“Now, we’re focused on becoming Dublin’s premier dog bakery, offering 100 per cent natural, locally sourced treats.”
Georgia acknowledges support she has received along the way from South Dublin Local Enterprise Office (LEO), which has led to her inclusion in the SuperValu Food Academy.
“It is hard work and a long process but the support from the Food Academy and LEO South Dublin has been invaluable.
“They’ve guided me through the process of refining our products to meet retail standards, which has been crucial for our growth.
“Their mentorship and resources have helped shape The Woofing Oven into a professional and thriving business.”
Looking ahead, Georgia is excited to expand the business in Dublin and beyond.
“My goal is to see The Woofing Oven’s treats in stores across the city, continuing to strengthen the bond between dogs and their owners through our products.”
