World Day for Safety and Health at Work

World Day for Safety and Health at Work

World Day for Safety and Health at Work took place on April 28 and to coincide with the global celebration Intel recognised a number of safety stars from their sites around the world.

Amongst those recognised as Safety Stars were two Leixlip based employees who were selected for their innovations, impact, execution, and going above and beyond so they and their colleagues go home safe and healthy every day.

Kevin Reilly, from Terenure in South Dublin, was recognised for completing over 30 ergonomic improvements across a number of different toolsets in the fab.

The majority are complicated, for example custom-made solutions such as hoists in tight spaces.

His projects have involved collaborating with outside vendors, reviewing design drawings, building prototypes, testing prototypes, creating a repository of best practises, driving specification updates, seeking out storage solutions and ensuring CE marking. Kevin’s achievements are a great example of participatory employee ergonomics.
