FEBRUARY started with The Echo reporting that the Gardai in Tallaght investigated 200 individuals in the Tallaght District for the alleged sale and supply of illegal drugs in 2018 and we learnt also that the Garda seized over €3 million worth of drugs in the Tallaght District in 2018.
The issue of scramblers is one that refuses to go away.

Early in the month we reported how a new infill housing development is providing an access point for cars and scramblers to get into Killinarden Park, according to local Councillor Dermot Richardson.
Over in Queensland, Australia, Mick Doyle, who is originally from Saggart, and who has three children with his Australian wife, Rachel, lost their house in Townsville due to a flood.
Former UFC fighter, Paddy Holohan, announced that he was running in the local elections.
Holohan later won a council seat.

Road safety campaigner Leo Lieghio from Citywest spoke this month at an AXA road safety roadshow. He lost his daughter, Marsia in 2005, when she was knocked down by a driver in Clondalkin.
It wasn’t all bad news in February though. There were plenty of great community initiatives throughout the month like the St Bridget’s Pilgrimage Walk and the Dodder Valley Clean-Up, to name but two.
