The high profile murder case of Ana Kriegel (13) was back on the front pages.

Collie Ennis, a conservationist urges South Dublin County Council to resubmit an application for funding for a boardwalk at the infamous Tallaght Wetlands site, which was levelled in an accidental destruction in September.
The council’s Budget 2020 divides opinion among councillors, following an increase in council rents for old age pensioners of €13 per week and an increase in council rents by €3 across the board.
The council’s ruling group of FF/FG/Greens voted to accept the budget and were blasted by Sinn Féin, Solidarity and Independents.
Citywest Residents Action Group blast the amount of high-density residential dwellings, being passed and proposed in the area, which they say are bypassing Local Area Plans.
Hoax calls increased to Dublin Fire Brigade stations in South Dublin County Council over the last few years – 28 hoax calls made this year up until October 25.

A by-election made history in more ways on the last day of November when Mark Ward joined his Sinn Féin colleague Eoin Ó Broin in the Dáil – the first time the party has held two seats in Dublin Mid West.
Deputy Ward, who grew up in Harelawn and now lives in Lucan, follows Neilstown’s first-ever elected TD Gino Kenny (PBP) into the Irish Parliament.
This represents a remarkable turnaround for a historically disadvantaged area that has suffered from lack of investment and serious crime and anti-social problems.
Two local lads from the area have reached the pinnacle of Irish political representation, a symbol of how far North Clondalkin has travelled, and an inspiration to young children that their voice can be heard at a national level.
