Youth Service travel to Finland on youth exchange programme

BALLYFERMOT Youth Service (BYS) are this week participating in an Erasmus + Youth Exchange to Puumala in Finland.

The theme is “Spring into Action” and it is BYS’ first exchange of the year. “Our young people will meet with their peers from Malta & Finland, communicating and working through a daily timetable of workshops, and activities, learning from each other’s cultures, making lifelong friendships,” said Jody Byrne, BYS.

During the exchange all participants get to know each other and are encouraged to express themselves, and team building and group interaction will form the daily activities, according to Jody.

The programme will take place on February 25 for 7 days.

“Our young people have worked weekly in preparation for this amazing opportunity to meet with their European peers,” said Jody.

“Great day in Finland/Malta/Ireland Youth Exchange in the village [of] Puumala.

Team building, treasure hunt, workshops, culture evening..Oh and SNOW imagine, young people having a blast,” BYS posted on its Facebook page.
