€180k playground consultation process is welcomed

By Echo Reporter

COUNCILLOR William Lavelle has welcomed the commencement of a consultation process with Lucan parents on the proposed upgrade of the Griffeen Valley Park Playground.

Cllr Lavelle told The Echo : “I have pushed for this project for three years and €180,000 has already been allocated by South Dublin County Council for replacement of the dated playground.

However, there has been much frustration locally over the delays in progressing this project. I’m therefore very happy to finally see things moving in the direction.”

The consultation will be carried over visits to the playground over a two-week period from April 27 until May 13 next.

As well as handing out the questionnaires council staff will be talking to the playground users and getting as much information as possible to help us understand the local play needs.

The visits will be organised for different times of the day and include weekdays and weekends.

Questionnaires will also be sent to local schools to ensure as many children as possible have their voices heard.
Anyone who would like to complete the questionnaire or make a written submission can email it parksevents@sdublincoco.ie
