A KIND gesture from a Centra store in Greenhills has resulted in the donation of 700 copybooks to a local primary school to help students for the new school year.

Horkan’s Centra on St James’ Road in Greenhills decided to donate the books to the nearby Holy Spirit Primary School just in time for the children’s return to school.

“We opened in November last year and as a new business we were thinking of ways to give something back to the community as we are coming up to our first year,” store owner Darragh Horkan told The Echo.

“We made contact with the principal last week and said we would love to do something for the school and asked if we could give a copybook for every student at the school and they said they would be delighted.”

Staff at the Centra store wished all of the pupils and staff at Holy Spirit Primary School the very best for the academic year ahead.
