TALLAGHT City won the Leinster Football League Premier Sunday title beating closest rivals Drimagh Celtic 2-0 in Tallaght Community School on Tuesday.

Scoreless at the break, the match saw the homeside take the lead 10 minutes into the second half when a corner kick was eventually tucked away by Robbie Farrell.

Tallaght doubled their lead after they were awarded a penalty which was converted by Glen Collins who cooly slotted the ball to the right of the opposing keeper to see his side get two hands on the Leinster Football League title.

It brings to a successful close a great campaign that saw Tallaght win 12 of their 14 games so far.
“We worked hard all year and deserve it” said a delighted Tallaght manager Keith Weston.

“We came very close over the last two years so to win the Leinster Football League this year, we are really happy” he added.

It does not stop there for the team as they line out in the Dalton Cup semi final against none other than Tallaght City’s Sunday side on Saturday, April 23 at the Transport Club.

What’s more Tallaght still have two games remaining in the league.
